Release the rest of the payment

Release the rest of the payment closes a partly shipped order.

Where: the order under Orders, ⋯ Actions › Release the rest of the payment.

#When you use it

You have shipped part of a Kustom order, and the rest will not ship. Cancel order does not work after a shipment, and Refund only gives back captured money.

The action is there when:

• part of the order has shipped,
• every shipped line is captured,
• something is still authorised at Kustom,
• you have the editor role or higher.

A fully shipped order does not have the action. If a shipped line is not captured: capture first with ⋯ Actions › Capture payment.

#How to

1. Open the order and press ⋯ Actions › Release the rest of the payment.
2. Read the list of units that close.
3. Untick Return the unshipped items to stock if the goods should not go back to stock (on by default).
4. Write an Internal note if you want.
5. Press Release [amount].

Kustom releases what is not captured: the order total minus what was captured. The captured money stays. You can no longer capture or ship anything on the order.

#What closes

If there are units under Paid for, not shipped, Refund opens on Lines with them ticked after the release. That refund puts them back in stock.

#The order afterwards

• The order counts as shipped. It does not count in to ship and not as authorised.
• BunStack refuses New shipment with manual shipping.
• The payment stamp shows CAPTURED, or PARTLY REFUNDED if something was already refunded.
• Capture payment and CAPTURE SOON disappear.
• If refunds had already given back everything captured, the order becomes refunded. Stock goes back as with Full.
• A Full refund after the release gives back everything captured. The order becomes refunded.
• The customer gets no email.
• Timeline shows Rest of the payment released with the amount and the number of unshipped units.
• The OSS report reduces the sales by the released amount on the day you release. See The OSS report.
• If a closed line was already sent to ProSmart, BunStack flags the order for a credit there. A later push leaves out the closed units. See ProSmart: crediting and delivery.

You close a withdrawal for units that have not shipped with this action after a partial delivery. See Returns.

#Kustom's portal

• If the authorisation was released in Kustom's portal, or ran out, BunStack still records the order as released.
• If the rest was captured in Kustom's portal, nothing is released. BunStack records the capture on the order, and the page shows what Kustom had captured.
