Product images
Upload product images, change the order, write alt text and link an image to a variant.
The Media card shows the product's images. Here you upload images and set order, alt text and variant.
Where: Products › [product], the Media card.
Upload
- Open the product.
- Press Upload images / video, or + Upload more when the product already has images.
- Pick one or more files.
The file picker takes PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, MP4 and WebM. Files upload one at a time. BunStack keeps the original and makes smaller copies for the storefront, up to 2,048 px wide. The card names a file that did not upload, for example "1/3 uploads failed".
Note: A video is saved on the product but does not show in the storefront. The storefront shows images only.
Order and main image
The first image is the main image. It has the badge HERO. The storefront uses it in product cards, search results and structured data.
- Press ⋯ on the image.
- Choose Move earlier or Move later.
The storefront uses the new order.
Alt text and variant
- Press ⋯ on the image.
- Choose Edit alt text and variant.
- Type the Alt text. It saves when you leave the field.
- Choose a variant under Variant link, or "Product-level (all variants)".
An image linked to a variant gets the badge VARIANT. It becomes the variant's image. When the customer picks the variant, the storefront shows that image first. If the variant has several linked images, the storefront uses the first.
Remove
The cross on the image asks Remove this picture? The file is deleted. and then removes the image. BunStack also deletes the file, unless another product uses it. A duplicated product shares the files with the original, so the file stays as long as either uses it.
Imported images
Images from an import or a move show below the uploads, with the badge IMPORTED. The line above says how many there are. The storefront shows them after the uploaded images.
- You cannot give them alt text or a variant link. Upload the image again for that.
- The cross removes the image from the product. The file stays where the import found it.
- If they are still on the old shop's image server: copy them into BunStack with Copy images from the old shop.
Without an image
A product without an image shows a placeholder in the storefront. The card shows "NO MEDIA YET" until the product has an image.
