Orders
The pack flow: pick, pack, ship
The warehouse queue of paid orders, the pack view per order with scanning, the packing slip, booking the shipment and several orders at once.
The pack queue collects paid orders to ship.
Where: Orders › Pack orders.
The pack queue
The queue shows paid orders that have not shipped, oldest first. It has six tabs:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| To pick | Orders nobody has started picking |
| Picking | Orders with at least one unit picked |
| Packed · to ship | Packed orders waiting for shipping |
| Ready for pickup | Pickup orders waiting for the customer |
| Held | Held orders: Kustom's fraud check, rejected or cancelled payment |
| Shipped today | Orders shipped today |
Each tab shows its number of orders. At zero no number shows. The list takes the 300 oldest unshipped and the 100 most recently shipped orders. If a tab counts more, the line under the list reads, for example, Showing the oldest 300 of 412.
Press an order to open the pack view. An order under Held must not ship and opens the order page instead.
Pick, pack, ship
- Pick. Each line shows image, title, variant, SKU and quantity. Press All when the line is picked. − removes one unit. The scan field always has focus: scan or type the SKU and press Enter or +1. A service is not picked: it is under SERVICES · DO BEFORE PACKING with the customer's answers. Press Mark done when the work is done. An add-on says what it is for, for example For Resonate GI and Rubbers: Rakza 7, and a picked line says what it goes into, for example Gluing → Resonate GI. Goods that have questions show the customer's answers under the line.
- Pack. Press Print packing slip and put the slip in the parcel. Press Mark as packed. If lines remain, the button reads Mark all N picked and packed. Start the pick over resets the pick.
- Ship. Press Book shipment & label. BunStack books the shipping with the customer's shipping method, Sendify or PostNord, and opens the label in a new tab. A manual shipping method books nothing. BunStack marks the order as shipped.
The order changes to PICKING at the first picked unit and to PACKED when every line is done. Next order → opens the oldest order in the queue that is not held.
In step 3 BunStack captures the payment on a Kustom order when the Kustom integration captures at fulfilment. The tracking number shows in the view and goes into the shipped email.
Store pickup
An order the customer collects in your shop has the PICKUP stamp in the queue. Pick and pack it like any other. Step 3 is called Ready and the button Mark ready for pickup. The customer gets the email that the order is ready to collect. BunStack captures no money yet.
The order then shows under Ready for pickup. The row opens the order page. Press Picked up when the customer collects. If the order is held, it moves to Held. See Store pickup.
The packing slip
The packing slip goes in the parcel. It has the storefront's name, not BunStack's.
| Part | Content |
|---|---|
| Top | The storefront's name, with the logo above when the theme has one. The company's name below, when it differs. The order number and order date on the right |
| SHIP TO | Recipient and delivery address, the same as on the label. The customer's email and phone |
| Shipping | The shipping method, the service point and the order's status |
| PACKING NOTE | The text from Order note (on packing slip), in a frame before the lines |
| CUSTOMER NOTE | The customer's message from the checkout |
| Lines | Quantity, SKU, title and variant, with a box to tick. A pre-ordered line has its note under the title. A service comes after the goods, marked Service, with the customer's answers under it. An add-on stands indented right under the line it belongs to, with what the picks are called and the lines the customer picked, for example Rubbers: Rakza 7 (2,0 / Red). An older order shows With. Those lines say what they go into, for example Gluing → Resonate GI. Goods that have questions have the customer's answers under the title |
| Summary | Number of lines and units, and the line Packed by for a signature |
| Returns line | The storefront's /returns page when it is published, otherwise Settings › Workspace profile › Support email, otherwise the sender's email under Settings › Shipping. If none of them exists, the slip has no returns line |
| Bottom | A thank-you in the storefront's name and Powered by BunStack in small print |
PACKING NOTE and CUSTOMER NOTE are printed, both with their line breaks. On a pickup order, CUSTOMER replaces SHIP TO, and STORE PICKUP with the shop's address replaces the shipping method.
Print the packing slip
The packing slip looks the same wherever it is printed.
- Print packing slip in the pack view opens it in a new tab and prints. The toggles at the top: Customer note, Returns slip, Show item prices and Show SKUs. Choose paper beside them: A4, A5, 80mm thermal or Label · 4×6.
- Packing slip on the order page downloads the same slip as a PDF. It has the customer's message, the returns line and SKUs, but no prices.
Several orders at once
Tick the orders in the order list under Orders. The box in the header row ticks every order shown. Above the list, a bar shows how many are selected and the buttons for them:
| Button | Does |
|---|---|
| Print packing slips | Opens the packing slips in a new tab, one order per page. The toggles and the papers are the same as for one order |
| Pick list | Opens a pick list in a new tab: each SKU once, the quantity to pick and which orders it goes to |
| Book shipping & labels | Opens a page that shows which orders are booked and which are skipped. Nothing is booked until you press Book N shipments |
A number in brackets on a button means it takes that many of the selected orders. All three skip held orders, orders that are unpaid, cancelled, refunded, fully shipped or ready for pickup, and orders whose rest of the payment was released. The page lists each skipped order with the reason. Book shipping & labels also skips store pickup orders and orders with a manual shipping method, because they get no label. Mark them as shipped on the order page. An order of services only is skipped too, because nothing is shipped. Mark the services done on the order page, see Services.
The pick list only has what is left to pick. Units already on a shipment, units ticked in the pack view, refunded units and services are left out. Lines without a SKU are listed apart under NO SKU, to find by name. If the same SKU has different product names in the orders, the row says so. Products have no shelf location, so the list is sorted by SKU. A line that goes into an add-on says so after the order number, for example #1047 ×1 (Gluing → Resonate GI), and goods that hang under a line say For Resonate GI.
Book shipping & labels books one order at a time, the same way as Book shipment & label in the pack view: the carrier and service the customer chose at checkout, every line that is left, and the Kustom payment captured when the Kustom integration captures at fulfilment. The customer gets the shipped email. Each row shows BOOKED with the tracking number, FAILED with the reason, or SKIPPED. Stop after this order stops after the order being booked. Leaving the page stops the run the same way. Try the N failed again books the failed ones again. A label the carrier has already booked is used again. Booking needs the editor role or higher. A viewer sees what would be booked, but Book N shipments cannot be pressed.
When the run is done, Download N labels as one PDF downloads the labels of the booked orders in one file. Each label keeps its page size.
Pack status
The pack status is the warehouse's own and shows beside the shipping status. BunStack always marks an order that ships as packed. The queue therefore never shows a shipped order as not done. On the order page Pack view opens the pack view for a paid order that has not shipped.
