Shipping
Shipping methods, delivery countries and prices
How to build the shipping offer per storefront: fixed prices, live rates via Sendify, free shipping and service classes.
Delivery countries
Under Storefronts › Shipping you choose which countries the storefront delivers to. The list controls what the customer can choose in the checkout, which VAT rates can apply and which shipping methods must exist to go live.
Shipping methods
Every shipping method has:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name and description | Shown to the customer |
| Service class | Home delivery, pickup point, express or standard. Controls which carrier products may be matched |
| Countries | Which delivery countries the method applies to |
| Provider | Fixed price, Sendify (live rate) or PostNord |
| Price | Fixed price, or fallback price when the live rate cannot be fetched |
| Free above | Order value from which shipping is free |
| Requires pickup point | The customer must choose a pickup point |
Live rates via Sendify
For Sendify methods a pricing policy decides how the carrier's cost becomes the customer's price:
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Price mode | Live (cost + markup) or fixed |
| Markup and fixed fee | Percentage on the cost and a fixed fee |
| Rounding | None, whole units, to 5, to 9 |
| Minimum price | Floor |
| Allowed carriers and products | Limit to, for example, DHL and PostNord |
| Max delivery time | Hide slower options |
| Prefer | Cheapest or fastest first |
| Max number of options | How many the customer sees |
The customer price becomes (cost × markup + fee) × VAT, rounded, then the free-shipping rule. Quotes are cached for 30 minutes per destination and basket. If Sendify does not answer, the fallback price is shown with the text "Live rates are unavailable right now", and the checkout never stops.
Weight and dimensions
Prices are calculated on one parcel: the sum of weight × quantity (at least 100 g), max length, max width and summed height when every line has dimensions, otherwise the tenant's default parcel. If the weight exceeds the maximum, the consignment is split into several parcels. See Sender and parcels.
