Abandoned checkouts

Checkouts that did not become orders: what the stamps mean, Retry promotion, the recovery email and who gets it.

Abandoned checkouts lists checkouts that did not become orders.

Where: Orders › Abandoned checkouts in the sidebar.

What the list shows

The list includes checkouts that failed, were cancelled or expired after 48 hours. It also includes checkouts with an unknown outcome. It does not include:

  • a checkout that is still open
  • a paid checkout that became an order
  • a checkout the customer replaced with a new one, by changing the discount code or pressing "Change" in the payment step

A replaced checkout shows anyway if its payment failed or its outcome is unknown.

Choose a period: 7D (preselected), 30D, 90D, 12M or ALL TIME. Choose a storefront or All storefronts. The list shows the 200 latest in the period.

The figures

FigureWhat it counts
AbandonedNumber of checkouts. The line below shows how many have an email and how many came in during the last 24 hours
Revenue at riskThe carts' total in the base currency. The figure leaves out carts without a rate. The line below shows how many

Needs you has two rows: paid, no order and outcome unknown. The row opens the first such checkout.

Stamps

StampMeans
FAILED, PROMOTION FAILEDThe customer paid at Kustom, but the checkout did not become an order
OUTCOME UNKNOWNThe customer reached the payment page, and BunStack never learned the outcome. The money may have been captured
NOT PAIDKustom has answered that the purchase was never completed
EXPIREDThe checkout ran out without payment

Create the order afterwards

On FAILED, PROMOTION FAILED and OUTCOME UNKNOWN:

  1. Press the checkout in the list.
  2. Press Retry promotion.

BunStack runs Kustom's confirmation again. If it becomes an order, Order N created. shows at the top with a link to the order. The checkout leaves the list. Dismiss removes the line. If it does not become an order, Kustom's answer shows under the button.

Follow up the customer

ButtonDoes
Send recovery emailEmails the customer a link to the cart. In Swedish when the checkout was in Sweden, otherwise in the language of the checkout or the storefront
Open in mail clientOpens an email to the customer in your email program
Copy summaryCopies the checkout as text

Send recovery email works only when the address belongs to a customer with consent to marketing. Otherwise the button is grey, and the line under it reads This customer has not opted in to marketing email, so the platform will not send this. Use Open in mail client or Copy summary then. On OUTCOME UNKNOWN the page offers no recovery email, because the customer may have paid.

The checkout's raw fields are under Session details: id, provider, reference and status.
