Lowest price before a reduction
How the storefront shows a reduction: from the lowest price in the 30 days before it, under the Swedish Price Information Act 7 a §.
On a price reduction the storefront shows the lowest price from the 30 days before.
Where: the Price card on the product, and Storefronts › [storefront] › Pricing rules.
When a product is reduced
A product is reduced in a storefront when either of these is true:
- Compare-at is higher than the price.
- A pricing rule lowers the price, see Pricing rules.
The reduction starts when the compare-at price last started showing above the price. For a pricing rule it starts when the rule started applying.
What the customer sees
The storefront works out the reduction from the lowest price it showed in the 30 days before the reduction. It does not use the compare-at price. That is how the EU Court of Justice read the rule in case C-330/23.
The storefront shows these texts in Swedish when its language is Swedish, otherwise in English. The English text is quoted here.
On the product page, in the page's currency and for the chosen variant:
- the lowest price, struck through,
- "Save X (Y%)", worked out from the lowest price,
- the line "Lowest price in the 30 days before the reduction: X".
Product cards, lists, search results and custom card designs strike through the same price. The product feed for Google and Meta sends the same price as g:price. A custom product page design shows the line and uses the same price for compare-at price and sale badge.
When the storefront shows only the price
The storefront shows the price without a struck-through price, amount and line when:
- the history does not cover the 30 days before the reduction, or
- the price was as low or lower at some point in the 30 days. Then it is not a reduction.
The price history starts on 13 October 2026, or when the product was created if that was later. A reduction shows only once the history covers the 30 days before it.
Check a product
The Price card on the product shows the state per storefront and currency when the product is reduced:
| Text | Means |
|---|---|
| Not shown as reduced yet. | The history does not cover 30 days. The line says where the history starts and from which day a reduction can show |
| Not a reduction. | The price was as low or lower in the 30 days. The line shows the lowest price |
| Shown in the storefront as reduced from the lowest price in the 30 days before the reduction | The storefront shows the reduction. The line shows the lowest price per storefront |
Warning: An item the storefront shows as the price alone is not reduced under the law. Do not advertise it as reduced in newsletters, ads or feeds.
Prices from an earlier shop
For the days before the storefront moved here, the prices in the old shop count, if BunStack has read them in. The moving day is the date in Orders placed before, in the Orders from your previous shop card under Storefronts › [storefront] › Returns. BunStack converts prices in other currencies with the rate and currency settings of that time.
