Create and manage storefronts

The storefront tabs, the overview, order numbers, the product selection, new storefronts, copies and deletion.

A storefront has its own address, design, currencies, checkout and delivery countries. The workspace shares the catalogue, the customers and the orders across its storefronts.

Where: Storefronts in the sidebar. Click a storefront to open its tabs.

The band

The band sits at the top of every tab. It shows the storefront's name, address and status, and has two buttons:

  • Preview shows the storefront as the designer has saved it.
  • Open designer opens the designer on the live variant. See Design and variants.

The line under the name shows the address and which design is live, for example Design: Main · unpublished changes when there are saved changes customers do not see. If someone has a variant open in the designer, it says so too, for example Kim is in the designer. On a live storefront the address is a link to the storefront.

The tabs come in three groups: what the storefront shows and sells (Overview, Analytics, Products, Pages), how it sells (Pricing rules, Checkout, Returns, Feeds) and how it is set up (Domain, Redirects, Access). Go live comes right after Overview until the storefront is live, and last after that. The number after Go live is how many checks are not green. When you scroll, the tab row stays at the top and shows the storefront's name.

LIVEThe storefront is published. The mark beside the name is green.
DRAFTThe storefront is a draft. It has not gone live, or you have unpublished it. The mark beside the name is mustard.
PAUSEDThe storefront is paused under Go live.
NOT LIVEShown on some tabs for a storefront that is a draft or paused.
PRIVATEThe storefront is private under Access. Shown beside the status.

A storefront that is not live does not answer on its address. Use Preview to see it.

The overview

At the top are the storefront's address and the date it was created. A storefront that is not live has the Go live button beside them. It opens the Go live tab.

Below that are four tiles. Each tile is a link.

How revenue is counted is under Reports.

Needs you lists what is waiting in the storefront: reviews to approve, new messages and abandoned checkouts. What is missing for go-live has its own card above it, Before going live (see Go live). When nothing waits, the card shows Nothing needs you right now.

Further down:

  • Storefront settings: status, domain, access, design, currency, language, name, checkout and pages. The Language and Name rows lead to their cards further down. Design shows the live variant and whether it has changes that are not published, and opens the designer. The other rows open their tab.
  • Language and Name: the storefront's language and name.
  • Order numbers: what the storefront adds to the order number.
  • Access: the access mode, linked groups and the address check.
  • Recent activity: the storefront's latest events. All activity opens the full log.
  • Danger zone: delete the storefront.

The storefront's language

A storefront is in Swedish or English. The language applies to the platform's texts: buttons, cart, checkout, emails and the templates for the legal pages. It also sets how prices are written, for example 35,99 € in Swedish and €35.99 in English. Your products, categories, pages and design texts show as you wrote them.

  1. Open Storefronts › [storefront] › Overview.
  2. Press the Language row under Storefront settings.
  3. Choose Svenska or English in Shop language.
  4. Press Save language.

Only an owner or admin can change the language, and only here. Every change is in the Activity log.

Buyers in Sweden get the Kustom window and the emails in Swedish. Everyone else gets them in the storefront's language. See Emails to the customer.

The legal pages are not changed. While they are in the other language, the card says so, for example The legal pages are still in Svenska. Create them again with Regenerate legal pages under Pages. They are drafts until you publish them. See Pages and legal texts.

A storefront has one language. Visitors cannot switch language. See Not available yet.

The storefront's name

The name is in the page titles, in search results, in the header when the storefront has no logo, at checkout, in the emails to the customer, whose sender is "[storefront] via BunStack", and under the app icon on a phone's home screen. See The storefront as an app.

  1. Open Storefronts › [storefront] › Overview.
  2. Press the Name row under Storefront settings. The cursor lands in Shop name.
  3. Type the name, at most 80 characters.
  4. Press Save name.

The storefront's address does not change. Only an owner or admin can change the name, and only here. Every change is in the Activity log.

Order numbers

All storefronts and the till count from one series, so no two orders get the same number. A number is built from five parts in this order:

workspace prefix + storefront prefix + digits + storefront suffix + workspace suffix

BunStack adds no hyphens. If you want one, type it in a prefix or suffix. Each part has at most 10 characters: A–Z, 0–9, -, _ and .. Lower-case letters become upper-case.

The whole workspace:

  1. Open Settings › Workspace profile and go to Order numbers.
  2. Fill in Prefix and Suffix, or leave them empty.
  3. Choose Digits, 1–10. Shorter numbers get leading zeros. Longer numbers are written in full.
  4. Next number is the number the next order gets. It can only go up, for example to continue where an earlier shop stopped.
  5. Press Save order numbers.

One storefront:

  1. Open Storefronts › [storefront] › Overview.
  2. Fill in Storefront prefix and Storefront suffix, or leave them empty.
  3. Press Save.

Next order shows the number the next order gets. Example: the workspace has the prefix WH and the suffix -SE, the storefront has the prefix K, Digits is 5 and the next number is 1001. The order number is then WHK01001-SE.

Changes apply to new orders. Orders that already have a number keep it. Storefronts that existed before prefixes and suffixes keep their old prefix with the hyphen, for example C674-. The customer sees the number in the emails, on the confirmation page and in the order lookup. Only an owner or admin can change order numbers. Every change is in the Activity log.

Products in the storefront

The catalogue is shared within the workspace. Under Storefronts › [storefront] › Products you choose which products the storefront shows.

SettingWhat it doesLimits

PriceOwn price in the storefront, in the base currency. An empty field gives the product's priceVariants with their own price keep it

The filters all, picked and unpicked and the search box narrow the list. The counter shows how many of 12 are featured. Categories are shared within the workspace. See Products.

Create a new storefront

  1. Open Storefronts and press New storefront.
  2. Fill in Storefront name.
  3. Check Slug. It becomes part of the address.
  4. Choose Currency (SEK, EUR, NOK or DKK) and Language (Swedish or English).
  5. Choose Blank or Copy of … an existing storefront.
  6. Press Create storefront.

BunStack then opens the Go live tab of the new storefront.

FieldRule
Storefront nameAt most 80 characters
Slug3–32 characters: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens. No hyphen first or last. Checked while you type
Addressslug-xxxxxxxx.bunstack.shop. BunStack sets the 8 characters when it creates the storefront
RoleOwner or admin

A blank storefront (Blank) sells to consumers. It starts with returns on: a 14-day return window, and the customer posts the item to the return address. The home country is the only delivery country from the start.

Copy a storefront

Copy of … takes along:

  • the live variant as customers see it, the layout pages and the CMS pages
  • the product selection with storefront prices
  • the shipping methods
  • the storefront's integrations, without keys
  • the countries, the VAT display and the checkout provider

The currency and language you chose in the form apply to the new storefront. The copy does not get the GTM container. When the source has more than 12 featured products, the copy features the 12 the source shows.

At the limit, the top of the form shows, for example, The Trial plan includes 1 storefront. To add more, email support@bunstack.co to change the plan.

Delete a storefront

Danger zone is at the bottom of the overview.

  1. Type the storefront's slug in the field.
  2. Press Delete storefront.

BunStack removes the storefront and all its variants, pages, product selection, shipping methods and addresses. Checkout sessions, contact messages and form submissions are removed too. Products and customers stay in the workspace.
