Getting started
Overview: from account to first order
What BunStack is, how the parts fit together and the order in which to set up a store.
BunStack is an e-commerce platform where a company (a tenant) runs one or more storefronts under its own domains. Everything about selling, VAT, shipping and payment is built for EU trade from the ground up: OSS VAT per country, multiple currencies with ECB rates, the Kustom checkout and Sendify with live rates in the checkout.
The parts
| Part | What it is | Where in admin |
|---|---|---|
| Tenant | Your company: legal name, VAT number, home country, base currency, team | Settings |
| Storefront | A shop with its own theme, pages, currencies, shipping methods and domain | Storefronts |
| Products and categories | The catalogue is shared by all storefronts; each storefront picks what to show and can set its own prices | Products, Categories |
| Checkout | Kustom (Klarna Checkout-compatible) inside BunStack's own checkout frame | Storefronts › Checkout, Integrations › Kustom |
| Shipping | Sendify (live rates, pickup points, labels, tracking) or PostNord | Storefronts › Shipping, Integrations |
| Orders | Payment, capture, fulfilment, tracking, refunds | Orders |
| Reports | Sales, the OSS quarter, destination VAT | Reports |
The order that works
- Create the account and tenant at bunstack.co/signup. The first storefront is created as a draft at the same time.
- Fill in the company profile: legal name, registration number, VAT number, address, contact details. They are used in legal pages, on invoices and in structured data.
- Add products with price, weight, dimensions and tax category. Weight and dimensions drive the shipping prices.
- Connect payment (Kustom) and shipping (Sendify or PostNord), enter the sender address.
- Design the store in the designer and publish the theme. Review the legal pages.
- Connect the domain and run through the go-live checklist. When everything is green: Go live.
- Make a test purchase all the way to delivery before inviting customers.
Every step is on the dashboard as a checklist that ticks itself off as you finish each part.
What to have ready
- Company details: registration number, VAT registration number, address.
- Accounts with Kustom (payment) and Sendify or PostNord (shipping), with API credentials.
- Access to DNS for the domain you want to use.
- Product data, ideally as CSV if you have many items.
